First, I must admit that even though I support felony laws for pets I also wanted to give Farm Bureau the benefit of the doubt and assumed that FB had a reasonable explanation for their position.

Then I listened to the radio show this a.m. and am now embarassed to say that I have insurance with these people.

Mr. Waide said that he opposes any cruelty law that carries a felony charge because we shouldn't have to pay to incarcerate them? Is this to imply that we shouldn't incarcerate rapists and such because it costs the taxpayers money? Or is he simply saying that the man who ties his dog to a tree and burns it alive shouldn't have to serve jail time?

He went on to say that if these abusers have a felony on their record then they won't be able to get a decent job when they get out of jail and therefore will be unable to contribute to our society here in Mississippi. What? Does he honestly think that anyone really cares if these types of people can get great paying jobs when they're finished serving their sentence? Is Mr. Waide a paid lobbyist for felon rights or what?

Obviously, he and The MS Farm Bureau care deeply for the type of human being that can do such unspeakable acts of violence to cats and dogs. So, I ask you this Mr. Waide: will you open your doors and be so kind as to give these criminals a good paying job at The Farm Bureau after they've done their time? After all, no one seems to care more about them and their welfare than you.

He sounded like a very uneducated person with his head buried deep in the sand. I found it embarrassing. I am frequently embarrassed when I see people from MS saying things that are so far from mainstream generally accepted truths and thinking. Wake up MS!!!
